As doulas, we work for you. . .

. . .not for your caregiver or birthing location. Each doula within the Midvalley Doula Network is independent and self-employed. Together we form a diverse group of individuals who share a passion for pregnancy and the birthing process.
Who's your doula?

A good rapport with your doula is important to your birth experience; we support you in speaking with several doulas to find the one who's the best fit for you. Many of us are willing to travel to communities near Corvallis, including: Albany, Alsea, Brownsville, Jefferson, Lebanon, Monmouth, Monroe, Newport, Salem, Eugene, Philomath, and Sweet Home. Please see each doula's bio to find out their availability in your area.

I’ve been working with pregnant women since 2008 when I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in Oregon (Lic #14862). Becoming pregnant, myself, while in massage school, initially sparked my interest in the perinatal period. Since then, I’ve continued with additional training in pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum massage. . . (click to read more)

I’ve been working with strong women to help bring their babies into this world for 9 years. After 3 children of my own, all with very different births, I felt a need to embrace and empower moms so that they had an opportunity to have an amazing birth of their own. . . (click to read more)

I have been enchanted with birth since I attended my first one as a preteen. Since then, I have worked to gain education and certifications to put me in the world of birth. I am a nurturer by nature, and I strongly believe in the body’s innate ability to give birth well. . . (click to read more)

According to the World Health Organization's Reproductive Health Library:

"Compared with usual care, the provision of continuous support to women during labor increases the likelihood of spontaneous vaginal birth, reduces the duration of labor and use of analgesia and lowers the incidence of caesarean section and instrumental delivery. Moreover, fewer babies are born with a low 5-minute Apgar score and mothers express more satisfaction with the birth experience."
