Hello, friend! My name is Carly, and I am a certified birth doula and peer wellness specialist. I’m passionate about reproductive justice, and want to help people have safe and dignified births. I believe in empowering people with information, self-advocacy skills, and confidence in the innate abilities of their own bodies. I am still fairly new to doula work, but the experiences I have had so far have been incredibly fulfilling and have affirmed my choice to commit wholeheartedly to this work. I love meeting new people and learning from them, and I would be honored to support you during your pregnancy, birth, and transition to parenthood.
As your doula, I will provide emotional and physical support to you and your family and work hard to make sure all your needs are met. I have training in a variety of comfort measures and labor techniques, and can support your partner and family members in engaging more fully in the process. I have attended births at the birth center, the hospital, and transfers, as well as medicated and unmedicated births, and will provide judgement-free support for you with whatever choices you make for you and your baby. I am proudly queer and nonbinary, and am excited to support clients of all genders, sexualities, and family structures. As a neurodivergent person, I also have respect and understanding for cognitively diverse people, and can adapt to different communication styles and sensory needs. Outside of being a doula, I work as a community organizer fighting for climate justice and community resilience. I have been doing this work for the past five years and I love the connections and community that it has brought to my life. I have a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from OSU, and I’m currently learning Spanish and ASL. I also love spending time outdoors, dancing, writing, and making art.
