It's a beautiful day to have a beautiful birth.
Studies show that women attended by a doula during birth have shorter labors, fewer medical interventions, fewer cesareans and healthier babies. We are birth and postpartum doulas serving Corvallis, Oregon and surrounding communities including: Albany, Alsea, Brownsville, Jefferson, Lebanon, Monmouth, Monroe, Newport, Philomath and Sweet Home.
What is a doula?A doula is an experienced, trained woman who provides physical, emotional, spiritual and informed choice support before, during and after childbirth.
A doula is hired by the birthing couple, and works for them. She works with obstetricians and with midwives, in hospitals, birth centers and at home births. |
How can a doula help?Studies show that women attended by a doula during birth have shorter labors, fewer medical interventions, fewer cesareans and healthier babies. Recent evidence also suggests that the labor support provided by doulas enhances women’s satisfaction with their birth experiences and confidence with their new babies. With doula support, fathers tend to stay more engaged with their partners, during and after labor. |
Birth Doulas
Birth doulas are knowledgeable about pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum experience. We provide continuous support to the birthing couple before, during and just after childbirth.
Postpartum Doulas
Postpartum doulas go into the home to help moms and their newborn babies. We help families create a sustainable environment of support.
The Midvalley Doula Network is a proud member of the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition — working together to create a sustainable community.
