I’ve been working with pregnant women since 2008 when I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in Oregon (Lic #14862). Becoming pregnant, myself, while in massage school, initially sparked my interest in the perinatal period. Since then, I’ve continued with additional training in pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum massage.
When I trained with DONA to become a Doula in 2018, I was given the opportunity to use my knowledge of the body and birth to help pregnant clients feel supported in and around their births. My goal is that every client feels supported to make the very best decisions for themselves. I want to provide you with information, comfort and confidence. I do not want to take the place of your support structure, only add to it to help you achieve the birth you want. Professionally, I’ve attended births in hospitals, birth centers and at homes. I’ve supported pregnant families through medicated and unmedicated births, inductions, water births, cesareans and loss. From the beginning, I was trained as a Doula with the Community Doula Program, a program designed to offer doulas to under-supported women with limited incomes. In 2019, I completed extra courses to register with the state of Oregon as a traditional health worker #THW000003744. In addition to being a Doula and a Massage Therapist, I have a BS in Zoology from Oregon State. I have a strong love of nature and animals. I’m down to Earth and have a good sense of humor. I have two children from whom I’m constantly learning. I feel honored to be present at such important moments as births and will do my best to support you through this process.
