I have been working with families as a birth doula in the Mid-Willamette Valley since 2014, and became certified through DONA in 2015. With a bachelor’s degree that focuses on Intercultural Communication, I deeply honor and respect whatever birth beliefs, practices, and traditions my clients hold sacred. Education and training in crisis management as well as interpersonal communication contribute to my ability to work peacefully and respectfully with other birth professionals.
I have experience caring for families who have had a variety of different births, including: water births, medicated and non-medicated births, single mothers, medical inductions, C-sections and VBACs (vaginal birth after cesarean). As a mother of four, I have personally had an array of birthing experiences; from medicated to natural hospital births and a beautiful homebirth. All of which contribute to my empathy and support for whatever type of birth my clients desire.
The power of a loving and spiritual passage into this world for your little one is priceless and something I hold in high regard. I will give you my constant and full attention, staying in-tune with your needs as well as being attentive to your support people. As a member of your team, my goal is to enhance this bonding experience for you and your loved ones, not to interfere or take your partner’s place in any way. The ripple-effect of a positive birth experience is tremendous for everyone involved.
I would love to contribute to your preparation for birth and early parenting by listening to what is important to you and offering evidence-based information to help you navigate the world of birth. It is truly an honor to walk along-side families during this transitional time and offer a loving hand of physical and emotional support.
